Where's the SNAKE?
« on: April 24, 2020, 10:59:44 am »
Does anyone out there have insight on when the CIF-SS snake will be released?

Don't they generally have it out by now?

I'm sure they aren't too busy to get it done!

Inquiring minds want to know.

I don’t think conference  leagues are final yet. At least ours might not be done yet.

Speak for yourself
Conference  is 15 teams. It was 14 teams.
2 teams left the conference, 3 teams joined.
It’s not just one sport, each sport is aligned different, oh and there is a pandemic that happened right in the middle of it.
There are many things that go into it.
What are you in a hurry for? What are you gonna do start scouting teams in your division or something?

The same attitude as in the question, making it seem like it’s so easy to configure a large 15 team re done conference.

Maybe he doesn’t know the process & with everyone on quarantine he is probably looking forward to some wrestling news! Don’t jump on ppl for asking questions on a forum!

Well if “ how freaking long” is a nice way to ask a question, then my answer is a nice answer to the process.
I respond with the same attitude people ask questions with.
Just like my initial response was to Cal asking about Snake, I answered nice, he asked an honest question, and I gave an honest answer.
I agree, a snake would be a great conversation piece. Unfortunately, our conference is not set up yet, so if any snake comes out, it would not be official as our conference will be 2-3 new leagues

Wow. Had no idea youd react so personally. . but, yea. Too bad for you then i guess. It certainly wasnt meant with any offense but if ya want to read a tone into it and get all offended like a millenial at the "im offended" olympics then have at it.. Yes. How long can it take to freaking drop 2 and add 3...?

You already know who is entering and leaving. Your individual school dual meet schedules dont need to be known to figure out which teams are going where in the CIF snake. Admin and ADs are still at work the same as teachers, so thats a bit of an excuse there...

Why do i want to know? Curiosity. Just something to do wrestling related. Nope. Not gonna scout a thing... Why? Scouting isn't my thing until it actually matters and it doesn't matter in April.

Oh Wisconsin guy, I will bite :)

How long does it take or how long should it take?
The actual  answer is it should take about 5 minutes, but in reality it can take up to 5 months.

Do I have a little insight, absolutely!!! I happen to be an AD in the conference and there is always an argument about what decides who gets moved. Since we are talking about "individual wrestling" and wrestling is based upon equity (hence all CIF's allegedly being equal) wouldn't it make more sense to have the three leagues within a conference be equal as well? Unfortunately , the league constitution is not set up that way. They say that there should be three leagues with a best, middle and worse league. So basically, your top 5 teams go in one league, your middle 5 teams go in the middle league and the worse teams go in the bottom league. Each league then gets three qualifiers. That to me does not define equity.

I wrote the proposal for century conference a few years ago and it was accepted by CIF, all 8 teams in one league .

There is always some blowhard AD that thinks wrestling is the same as football where you can go win a CIF championship in division 22 and think it is special. Once a conference finally agrees to what a constitution change looks like, the AD's must approve and then the principals must approve.

Soooooooo, back to your question....How long does it take ?
I have no idea :)

Just for clarification, how long is a "long conversation via text"??

Are we talking 20 replies each? Are we talking big chunk texts instead of a few words at a time?

Also, who is Alan Clinton?
