California Wrestling - General Discussion / Re: Gary Quintana, RIP
« on: October 13, 2017, 08:42:49 am »
Q was a fierce competitor & a true student of the sport, he was a master at breaking down those skills and knowledge to his wrestlers with passion and swagger.  Gary was a great friend, my condolences go out to the Quintana family. RIP Q

SCWAY Tournaments and Info / Re: Jr Midcals 2016 update jr high and elementary divisions

Friday's meat grinder dual event was intense all teams were guaranteed 4 matches with SJ All star battling their way to the top by edging out Team Selma in the finals, although every team came to Gilroy ready to bang. I was very impressed with pool A which had  SJ All stars(Oakdale), Nor Cal All stars(AKA, AWA and Smash), Thorobreds WC(AZ) and Team Washington which represented 3 different states and each team was loaded with multiple Reno World and Freakshow placers. Saturday had its host of future stars as well and although Gilroy had some computer problem it was still a great day of wrestling here are the top preformers on Saturday in my opinion Clarence Moore, Dario Lemus, Joseph Martin, Henry Porter, Jayden Gomez, Seth Borba and Nathen Aguilar. If your kids are in middle school or coming up into MS this is a solid event.
