What a great opportunity to scrap with Team Shutt and place above Dark Knights, Apex, Accend, Iron Horse and Aries Bad Boys. Keep grinding and representing CA bringing down the East coast bias 1 match at a time and thank you Pablo for posting all this info.

126's is also a train wreck yes Belton hands down the #1 but the #2 Franco has a late January lose to Saldate when he placed at 3rd @ Mid Cal's behind Martinoni and Saldate which besides their finals match in Gilroy neither of those 2 young men have lost but they drop to #5 & #6 stupid they should be #2 & #3. Leake losses in back to back weekends to Franco cool both great young wrestlers, but they should be moved to #4 Franco & #5 Leake. But like I have been b#%^hing about already which is the placement of Chance Rich at the #4, Chance placed 7th last year at 120 then sustains a bad injury does not wrestle at all during the present season until league, divisions and Master's against not one of the top 8 kids medical defaults to Belton in the finals of Master's & presto you are the number #4 seed.

« on: January 25, 2018, 09:28:41 am »
Excited to see some outstanding match ups this weekend, especially 132's curious to see how Felix looks if he is feeling healthy, quick & strong. If that answer is yes then CA will be a real dogfight for the top of podium in Bakersfield, although to be the King you first have to beat the regining King. In other weights as always 120's & 126's are stacked and 170's should be interesting, can we see some changes in the ranking after Saturday night? The post season is right around the corner. Just my random thoughts on Gilroy

California Wrestling - General Discussion / Re: Should forfeits count as loses in TCW Rankings - State Seeding?
« on: January 15, 2018, 10:06:38 am »
Kind of on the same topic of state rankings/seeds and not competing, how can a kid keep a top 8 ranking/seed and never wrestle all year I'm not talking about a young men who are injured of like a month.  I am talking about kids who have not stepped on the mat all season and will not step on the mat until league. I would think a wrestler should have to put it on the line and be battle test to justify their ranking/seed, yes maybe the year prior they placed at state but this is a new year, we live in the present a lot can happen in a year. If you are going to tournaments all year especially the majors(Ironman, RTOC, Powerade, Doc B, Midcal, B4TB, etc) and battling to get on the podium week in and week out, you should be ranked/seeded high than the kid who is not in action.

Im not sure if Chris is a starter or not but he was either scoring for the A or B team and both teams placed in the top 10 out of the whole field which was amazing.

Buchanan and Poway bring serious heat to any tournament, but a full on weight Gilroy team has some punching power. As for individual's IMO Aguilar and Zollmann really were the cream of the CA wrestlers as 120's and 132's were both heavy with national ranked athletes. Most hyped final's was Montalvo vs Fearrari and Harlan vs Reyes.

Overall it was a great day the competition was tough overall but especially at 145 & 152 those 2 weight were worth the admission alone, great tacos bar and an early finish to boot. Olejnik and Ryan wrestled lights out to come away with the rigs.
